I am going to do something RUDE now and get a savegame editor and make an entirely ridiculous ship and murder all rebels because sometimes you just gotta.
And then the ship was attacked by ridiculously well armed pirates and they murdered all crewmembers the end.
There is still hope! A small federation scouting vessel has reacted to the SS Seldons distress Signal and agreed to exchange some fuel for missiles! The crew is relieved to know that even in this hostile sector of the galaxy, there are still some who are loyal to the federation!
Some Rockmen have joined the cause, replacing crewmember of the SS Seldon that died a heroes death trying to protect the ship from a rock spacemine (Jones, you will be missed). However, as the foundatio^Wfederation cruiser presses on through another sector of Rock space, a problem has come up: The Fuel reserves are almost used up, and there is no store in sight…
The SS Seldon has passed through the Slug nebulas, and is once again in Rock territory - in fact, it now travels through the home world of these mighty giants!
Two jumps in, the crew of the SS Seldon is very, very glad that their captain had the foresight to upgrade the O2 systems.
Also, armaments have been upgraded, and: We have SENSORS!
After an uneventful trip through Rock space, the SS Seldon is now passing through the home nebula of the devious Slugs.
O2 systems have been upgraded just in case.
After narrowly surviving an ambush by pirates who had taken over a Zoltan research station (The Zoltans were so kind as to provide the ship with a Defense Drone schematic for saving them) and picking up another anti-personell-drone schematic from a wrecked engi ship, the SS Seldon has made it to sector 3 - Rock territory.
The SS Seldons crew was slightly confused when suddenly all lifesigns disappeared. Must have been only a single crew member on that pirate vessel, and we happened to hit the room they were in with our heavy laser… twice?
Also, found a small bomb.
Having defeated several pirates, the SS Seldon has made it through sector one with minimal damage, and sold off some drones to hire crew instead and get different drones and - getting lucky in sector 1 - a scrap recovery arm!
Still no sensors, though.
