This is my letter to angry fanboys.
First, let it be known that I love most fanboys. When I go to a con, most of the guys there are respectful. They share a passion with me, and that’s awesome. We’re all on a rock floating through space with little…
This isn’t the sort of thing I’d normally reblog because a.) I’m, like, 30% less shippy than most - in that I’m more of an appreciator than an active participant in shipping - and b.) it’s the sort of conversation/fight I’ve had uncomfortably often in real life and am slightly jaded about. But this frustration? I have it. Ooooh, I have it. So here, have a little pressure valve to take the edge off.
This is a thing I have been unsure about for a while:
if I should be sorry for liking some things just because the characters are made to appeal to what I like, or if neither of us should be: If being somewhat perverted, to the point where it actively offends other people (who cannot help but be offended), is terrible, or acceptable.
And I really am not sure which of the two it is, though I wish for the latter, though it might very well be that we are all bad people who should feel bad.
I really have no idea. If you think you’ve figured it out, please tell me, because I don’t know and it is a thing that I think about and it bothers me a lot.
